Relax nestled in the woods of Kakhout Mountain in the Marshall’s Creek area near Bushkill Falls in the Pennsylvania Pocono Mountains. This retreat offers modern conveniences like central air and still retains the original log cabin charm. Escape the hustle & bustle of everyday life and embark on a peaceful vacation getaway. Listen to the serene sounds of the cascading water and watch the deer prance by on a brisk fall morning or at dusk on a summer day. This spacious cabin sleeps 9 in beds and is fully-equipped for comfortable vacation living. Waterfront views from the living room, master bedroom, front porch and side patio. Secluded among the mature pines and hemlock trees, this cabin has two bedrooms and a loft bedroom, one full bath, fully equipped kitchen, living room, dining area, and a large screened in porch with eating area. The master bedroom has a queen size bed, the second bedroom has twin over full bunk beds, and the loft has a queen bed and two twin guest beds. The screened in porch has comfy wicker furnishings and a picnic table for al fresco dining. There is a private beach sitting area right on the creek. Enjoy swimming, tubing, great trout fishing, or just reading.
Our retreat offers serenity, privacy, and a chance to unplug from technology yet with countless activities and amenities close by. Enjoy the cascading water as it rushes over the rocks and lulls you to sleep; enjoy a good book and a warm fireplace, or roast marshmallows on the outdoor fire pit. Do as much or as little as you like – but know that it is all here for you. The LR of this get away features a wood burning fireplace, perfect to gather the family around after a full day of enjoying the Poconos or snuggle up next to a crackling fire as a romantic couple`s getaway. A fully equipped country kitchen and outdoor gas grill and smoker grill offer ample opportunity to take advantage of the produce and other products offered by many local farm merchants. Relax and enjoy that fresh country air, the beautiful Poconos scenery year-round, stargazing without the glare of streetlights, and the deer grazing all around you, or our resident blue heron gliding in for a visit, all from the privacy of your own getaway screened porch, your private beach area, or the outside fire pit lounging patio.

In this Poconos getaway log cabin, you’ll have access to a private beach area on our creek, tubing, fishing and hiking. If you’re up to more activity, then try rafting or canoeing on the Delaware River, go on a nature walk/hike, take a trip to nearby Bushkill Falls, shop at the Tannersville Premium Outlets, Pocono Bazaar Flea Market, or local antique shops, or simply relax and read a book on the beach area or in front of a warm fire.
Amenities: Sleeps 9 in BEDS - 2 Queen Beds, Twin over Full Bunk Beds, 2 Twin Beds; Large living room with wood burning fireplace; Central Air Conditioning & Heating; Large enclosed porch to relax or dine al fresco; cozy outside seating area around fire pit. Enjoy the stereo/CD music, DVD movie, board games, wood-burning fireplace, water tubes and a stock of firewood. Fully Equipped Kitchen, as well as an outside Weber Gas Grill and Charcoal Grill. Outside patio with wood burning fire pit. Please know that there is no cable TV or wifi provided. Cell service varies by carrier.
On Site: Trout Fishing, Water Tubing, enjoy a nice walk and look for our friendly wildlife including our resident blue heron, chipmunks, hummingbirds, resident bald eagle and “eat out of your hand” deer.
Activities: This getaway is just ten minutes from East Stroudsburg and the Pocono Bazaar Market, antique shops, and state game lands. Nearby Bushkill Falls, Fernwood, Shawnee and Camelback offer golfing, skiing, snowboarding and snow tubing in the winter, as well as their fun water parks in the summer. Pocono Raceway; Pocono Downs Casino. Enjoy a hike to see the waterfalls at Bushkill Falls, the “Niagara of Pennsylvania”. Nearby is the Delaware National Preserve for hunting, hiking and rafting. Nearby horse stables, golfing, hiking, biking, and river canoeing. The Delaware River is minutes away for power boats. Just ten minutes away from convenient shopping, restaurants, grocery store, drugstore, state store, movie theatre. Visit the Top of the World Restaurant just minutes away. Visit the nearby Pocono Bazaar Market open weekends year-round. Antiquing in quaint town of Milford, as well as cultural events at Shawnee including Rodeos, Irish Festival, German Festival, Hot Air Balloon Festival, Loggers competition or relax doing nothing at all. Nearby are antique shops, flea markets, the Tannersville “Crossings” Factory Outlets, and excellent restaurants. The Pocono’s also offers an outdoor summer concert theatre, The Mountain Laurel Center for the Performing arts (www.mountainlaurelcenter.com) and the Sherman Theater in Stroudsburg (www.shermantheater.com). New York City and Philadelphia are only two hours by car.
The cabin offers all modern conveniences including electric heat and CENTRAL AIR. The riverstone fireplace is wood-burning and there is wood stacked outside. Just bring your food or shop nearby at the area markets. All you need to bring are your bed linens and towels (2 queen beds; 1 full bed; 3 single beds).
RENTAL POLICIES: This is a NON-SMOKING house. No pets allowed in the cabin. Check In: 3:00 pm; Check Out: 11:00 am; Required Stay: 2 night minimum stay Renters must be at least 25 years old.
DEPOSITS: A damage/reservation deposit of $200.00 is required to confirm reservation. This deposit must be received within seven (7) days of booking the reservation. The deposit automatically converts to a security/damage deposit upon arrival. The deposit is NOT applied toward rent; however, it is fully refundable within (14) days of departure, provided the provisions listed in damage waiver are met.
PAYMENT - An advance payment equal to 50% of the rental rate is required upon reserving the cabin. The advance payment will be applied toward the rental fee. The advance payment is not a damage deposit. The BALANCE OF RENT is due sixty (60) days before your arrival date.
PAYMENT OPTIONS – Pay Pal (online credit card) accepted; or personal checks.
CANCELLATION POLICY: Sixty (60) day notice is required for cancellation. Cancellations that are made more than sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date will incur no penalty. Cancellations or changes that result in a shortened stay, that are made within 60 days of the arrival date, forfeit the full advance payment of rental rate. Cancellation or early departure does not warrant any refund of rent or deposit.
